Gli album successivi sono Ahead (2001), più orientato verso il pop rock, Weather (2003), Life is on our side (2004, live), Preparing to leave (2006) e The Platinum Collection (2007, raccolta dei tre primi album).
La band subisce negli anni alcuni cambiamenti di formazione fino all’odierno line-up: Jaël (frontwoman, voce e chitarra ritmica), Luk Zimmermann (chitarra solista), Chrigel Bosshard (batteria) e Cédric Saurer (tastiere).

Lunik missions, since 1959, have been the first attempts to reach the moon and they were at last the first space vehicles to reach it and the first ones to take an orbital image of the dark side of it… What is a worldwide success to you up there now?

Well as far as I know one of the other Lunik shuttles crashed right into the moon – I’m really happy that this doesn’t seem to be “our shuttle”… The frustrating thing about these mentioned “first pictures” is that they revealed something that everyone thought could be great and special… the unknown and never before seen “dark side of the moon”… and when the pictures came, everybody realized, that the moon looks exactly the same on the other side as on the one we all know… well sometimes to reveal something means to get back to where you’ve started from or to get dissapointed.
I guess this too is not happening to us as a band now… So I guess the “Lunik up in space” and the “Lunik from Switzerland” are definitely two different pair of shoes…

What about now the other side… of this moon? What do you see?

Che ne è dell’altro lato ora… Cosa vedete?

At the moment I see a lot more of Italy and England than I ever did before… One of the nicest parts of being a musician is the traveling thing… I really and truly love to visit foreign countries, get to know people, different mentalities, languages, food (Oh yes, I love italian food…) and feel very privileged to combine that with my job and biggest passion I’ve got.

Above all, you sing about love… Your music is really romantically sexy. Musical ability, along with other creative skills, are rather like a human version of the peacock’s tail. Something that has no survival value, but has evolved precisely because it is found attractive by the opposite sex… That’s according to Geoffrey Miller of the University of New Mexico. John Manning of University of Central Lancashire thinks that musical ability is an advertisement of male/female health and fertility, and that’s why great musicians are so sexy. Why music, according to you, is the best way to a man’s and a woman’s heart in arts?

Soprattutto cantate d’amore…

Music and the human voice in particular have some power that is – for me – a mistery. When I sing to our audience and they sing along with me I could always cry of joy. It’s such an intensity in it, a connection that is kind of magic. As a singer you get the chance to reach a lot of peoples hearts. Some fans write to me “in that song you expressed exactly what I feel” and they thank me for it. So when they come to a concert and sing that song with me, it’s like we belong together for a little while… one feels understood and not alone in his thoughts and feelings for a moment. And then of course standing on a stage makes a human being seem special (and maybe sexy?) and there’s a lot of projection included. And if you need a physical explanation for it…it also gives the musicians a “high” getting so much appreciation at one time which can make any human being look better and sexier probably…

What about Bob Rose’s contribution? He has worked with many remarkable artists. A producer like that, of great experience, could suggest stimulating and creative solutions or else even impose a great will on a product, on music, arrangements and so on…

Of course Bob gave us some great inputs. It’s always really interesting to work with a producer that has a lot of experience and doesn’t know the songs for as long as we do, as he has the chance to listen to those songs in another let’s say “fresher” way. So after we played a song a hundred times live already of course we have a certain idea of it. If then someone comes in and says “it has to be the total other way round” that can be shocking and refreshing at the same time. It depends if you’re open for new things, which we were. If you’re not, there’s no point in working with a producer…

At last, have you a message you want people hear about?

In conclusione, avete ora un messaggio?

As it’s also said in our actual single “in the end we’re all the same”… everyone should never forget that…
AND
I wish the best to all the people suffering from the terrible earthquakes a few days ago… It shocked me to read about it and my best thoughts are with all those people who lost their homes and beloved ones!
